FOI GLOSSARY

DunLaoghaireManningRobertson.jpg

Olivia and Lawrence's father, Manning Robertson, was a well respected architect.  He worked on several projects with the Corporation of Dublin as a member of the Town and Regional Planning Committee in the 1920's and 1930's.  One of his finished works is pictured to the left, a housing scheme built at Blackrock by the Borough Corporation of Dún Laoghaire.

The Robertson family spent several years in Dublin. Lady Olivia's experiences in this city as a child, then as a student and later as an adult, when she worked for the Corporation of Dublin City Playgrounds, form the basis for several of her novels.
