The Convocation
of the
Fellowship of Isis
Isis Oasis, Geyserville, California
Sponsored by the Temple of Isis
October 7 - 10, 2005
Patroness Deity, Hathor
by Rev. Elda Lantz, Prs. H., Lyceum of the Eclectic Rose
The 2005 Convocation of the Temple of Isis / Fellowship of Isis was dedicated to the goddess
Hathor. It was an enriching experience for everyone in attendance. Friday evening's opening ceremony included a beautiful
Dance of Hathor by Priestess Le'ema, an amazing sacred dancer and Lady Olivia Robertson's trance journey meditation both of
these helped to establish the Hathorian energy that was evident throughout the weekend. Following Lady Olivia's meditation,
we introduced ourselves to someone in the Circle that we did not know, and using the Mirror of Hathor we then introduced them
to the Circle.
Saturday morning came quickly. A few early risers joined Priestess Barbara Westlake for yoga in the
Great Temple; while others gathered for coffee and/or tea around the fire in the Dining Pavilion. Following breakfast, Priestess
Linda Iles presented an insightful presentation on The Round Zodiac of the Temple of Hathor at Dendera. Linda's extensive
research into Egyptian Astrology and her beautiful drawing of the Decans opened an entirely new avenue of appreciation for
both the advanced spiritual and scientific knowledge of the Ancient Egyptians.
Next was the Oracle of Hathor presented
by yours truly. I am always honored to offer this service. Of course, as an oracle, one does not recall what is said so I
thought I would be "smart" this year and record the Oracle so that I too could hear it. But ... you guessed it! The tape was
blank!!!
Following the Oracle we left the Great Temple for the Dining Pavilion where Priestess deTraci Regula led us
in the creation of Hathor Mirrors. This fun workshop brought out the creativity and appreciation for beautiful objects for
one and all.
After lunch, several priestesses from the Iseum of Mary-Isis presented the myths of their chosen goddesses.
These ladies always share their creativity and insights into the Divine Feminine. They concluded their presentation with the
Words of the Star Goddess: "For if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without. For
behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire."
We then
left the Great Temple and once again gathered in the Dining Pavilion where Priestesses Ann Weller, Karina McAbbee and Ann
Maglinte shared their expertise on acupressure, anti-aging, and herbal facial treatments. This hands on workshop gave us a
continued (or in some cases a new) appreciation for the Ancient Healing Arts.
With a short amount of free time, many
of us chose to spend it walking the new Ankh Labyrinth or a swim in the pool before the evening's activities. It is difficult
to think that anything else could be more inspiring than the events we experienced earlier in the day, but they were just
a precursor ...
The evening program began with the inspiring The Dance of the Women with the Alabaster Jar, the story of the
lineage of the Alabaster Jar ... Isis to The Blessed Mother to Mary Magdalene as portrayed by Priestesses Christy Salo,Le'ema
and Elizabeth Kelley.
This was followed by a very special memorial dance in honor of Priestess Moyae Kennedy who journeyed to the
Summerland a few weeks ago. The dance was beautifully performed by Christy Salo with everyone joining her at the conclusion
of her dance as an expression of their personal celebration of Moyae’s presence in their own lives.
While stories
of love were shared in the Great Temple, groups of 12 were led to the Tomb Room where Priestess Isidora Forrest led us in
"The Mysteries of the Beloved of the Two Sisters", or "The Raising of Osiris". As an anecdote, about midnight, Lady Loreon
heard a knock on her door and was told that one of her beloved ocelots had gotten out of his cage. His name, Osiris! He had
managed to get to the very top of his cage and into that of his mate and then out on to the grounds where he encountered the
very handsome Egyptian Turkey. The turkey, while a bit traumatized from his meeting with Osiris, was otherwise unhurt.....except
he did lose a good number of his tail feathers!
The Gnostic Mass was offered on Sunday morning by Priestesses
Elizabeth Kelley, Christy Salo, and Sabina. The Mass is a tradition that we all look forward to during the Convocation and
is an experience that words alone cannot convey ... the Sacredness of the Rite takes one back to the Temples of Old. Following
the Mass, Priestess Candidate Andria, an amazing harpist, graced us with her musical talents.
The afternoon saw the
Ordination of about sixteen new Priest/esses by Lady Olivia and Lady Loreon with the assistance of Priestess deTraci Regula.
The Ordinations are held outside under the 500 year old Douglas Fir Tree.
DeTraci shared slides from her recent trip
to Turkey and Crete on Sunday evening. This was followed by Sacred Belly Dancing.
Monday morning, Lady Loreon shared
with us her version of Water Neter Yoga. The poses were wonderful and many of us look forward to shoring them with others
as we do water exercise in pools in our own communities.
Following breakfast, we gathered in the Great Temple for the
Adoration of Hathor. Priestess Le'ema once again embodied the goddess Hathor. Each person went before the goddess with a personal
adoration and also shared a song, dance, or thought with the Community.
Before we knew it, lunch was served and it
was time for farewells. We are now looking forward to the 2006 Convocation - Columbus Day weekend!

Rev. Le'ema Graham asked us to write a personal adoration for the Goddess Hathor based on a slip of paper we individually
drew which contained one of the many titles of this Goddess. She collected the adorations we had written at
the end of the Adoration of Hathor event, and took them all home with her. After the Convocation, Le'ema compiled them
into book form and sent a copy to each one who had participated. Another treasured keepsake!
